1. Open a terminal using the macOS Terminal application.

2. Run the following command:

xcode-select --install

3.  When the popup appears asking if you want to install the Command-Line Developer Tools, select "Install"

4.  Wait for the installation to complete.

You may get this warning even after a simple update from Apple.  It can be quite frustrating, but we have to live within Apple's rules.

I'm getting this error message when I'm compiling on my MBP:

xcrun: error: invalid active developer path (/Library/Developer/CommandLineTools), missing xcrun at: /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/usr/bin/xcrun
Error: Last command making (build/firstprog.o) returned a bad status
Error: Make execution terminated

* Failed *

I get a message saying I need to install a package from Xcode. But then that fails when I try to go ahead and do that.

Has anyone found this problem?
