Work towards a project-wide outline is progressing nicely. Currently, the full project outline can be displayed, and items can be double-clicked to navigate to specific elements. The current layout is shown below:

Significant work still remains, however. The display of the outlines has to be optimized such that it doesn't affect the user experience. I just thought everyone would like to see the upcoming feature.

John,

The file outline panel will only ever display the contents of the current editor tab. Displaying the entire program structure would certainly be useful. I'll have to think of the best interface for displaying everything.

My current project has 8000 lines of code, 37 main source files and about a dozen more library source files, so the structure is quite complex. It would therefore be brilliant if I could see the entire program structure just by clicking the file outline tab in the LH pane of the SF program window.

Whenever I do so, however, even though I have the whole project loaded so all 37 source files appear in the project outline tab, the file outline tab only ever displays just the name of the one source file I currently have selected in the editor. I never see the program structure, as illustrated for the file outline tab in the help file.

I've looked at the help file and I can't work out how to use the file outline tab properly.

Can anyone advise me on this?
---
John
