Topic: File OPEN suggestion

I am forever accidentally using File OPEN instead of File OPEN PROJECT.

I would therefore find it a great help if Simply Fortran would check the file type when I select file OPEN and open either a file or a project depending on whether or not I have selected a filename with the .prj extension.

The file menu might then be shortened and slightly rearranged, like this.

FILE
- Open
- New
- New project
- Save
- Save as
- Save project
- Save project as

I might also be an idea for the SAVE AS function to check whether the user has entered a .prj filename extension.

Re: File OPEN suggestion

A cleanup of the File menu is not a bad idea.  I know that I myself regularly open projects incorrectly, resulting in an editor window opening the project file.

Re: File OPEN suggestion

As a compromise for the time being, the next version (1.16) will now open projects properly if a project file is selected via the "Open..." option in the File menu or the Open button on the toolbar.
