Topic: Debian 9 "Stretch" and Simply Fortran

While not exactly a bug, users will encounter a failed dependency when installing Simply Fortran on GNU/Linux distributions based on Debian 9 "Stretch."  The Debian project has renamed their libssl package such that it no longer matches the name in Debian 8 or Ubuntu.

In order to install Simply Fortran on Debian 9, users will need to download and install the Debian 8 libssl package:

https://packages.debian.org/jessie/libssl1.0.0

Debian files for each architecture are available at the bottom of the page linked above.

Installing this package will not cause any conflicts, and other commercial software is suggesting this same fix.

We do not have plans to change our dependency at this time as we are prioritizing compatibility with Ubuntu.
