Topic: problem with SF>=1.3 on xp

I am still using 1.28 because after upgrading to 1.30
my xp system reported some strange memory violation
errors during start-up. Then, with any program,
when I had opened file selection dialog, the active application
hanged-up for a few minutes. Uninstalling SF and restoring settings to
the earlier  date cured the system. Unfortunately the same happened with 1.31.
I wonder if somebody else have encountered such problem.

Re: problem with SF>=1.3 on xp

1.31 has been working perfectly well for me, as did 1.30 and 1.29.
Maybe worth trying a complete uninstall, then remove of all traces of Simply Fortran, then re-install 1.31?

Carlos,

I'll take a look at the IDE in XP to see if I can replicate what you're seeing. Sorry for the trouble.

Re: problem with SF>=1.3 on xp

Carlos,

I can't reproduce the slowness of the File Open dialog, but if your symptoms are system-wide, I suspect it is related to how Simply Fortran associates with Fortran source files.  In the next version, the installer will handle file association slightly differently based on your report.  I'll keep looking on some test systems to see if I can reproduce your problem.

As for the memory warning, I'll have a look at the startup code to see if I can find any issues.
