Topic: Avast Issues

Running Win7, SF v 2.25 and Avast Ver 10.3.2225
Before I can execute a SF application I must disable Avast.
If I don't,  three instances of Target.exe are created and cannot be removed by Task Manager.
Thus I must Restart if I forget to disable Avast

Any ideas as to how to resolve this issue ?

Re: Avast Issues

Bob,

I don't have a good solution for you in your case.  There may be some way to have Avast whitelist files that you've compiled or that exist in a certain directory.  I'm not overly familiar with the product, though.

I would suggest reporting it as a false positive to Avast.  They have a form at:

https://www.avast.com/contact-form.php? … VIRUS-FILE

that allows you to upload an executable for their analysis.  If they decide it indeed does not contain a virus, the offending signature should be corrected in the next virus definition update.
