Topic: Blind as a bat

I've renamed this topic.
It was originally called, Vertical line after column 72

I had asked Jeff this:

In editor options, could a display option be added for this?
I'm sorry I haven't thought of asking for it before now.

John,

In Editor Options  under the Display tab, there is a "Show Vertical Line" option.  Does that do what you need?

I'd seen that option but, inexplicably, it hadn't penetrated my thick skull that I could change the setting from 0 to 72!

Ah well..

Re: Blind as a bat

John,

Did your installation really default to zero?  That's an odd default.  I'll have to see how that happens.  Personally, I think it should default to 72 or 132.

Re: Blind as a bat

Yes Jeff, I'm pretty sure it began life as a zero.
It's possible that something I did might accidentally have set it to that, though I can't think what.

Re: Blind as a bat

A suggestion. You should change the Label on this checkbox to "Show Vertical Line after column:".

This will then be compatible with the Column value shown in the bottom right pane when the cursor is on the line. smile

Currently, when 72 is entered the line is shown as being at column 73.
